Working in Emergency Care at Blount Memorial Hospital

This is a project I did while working at Blount Memorial Hospital as Visual Media Coordinator.
The assignment was to put a video together to show potential recruits what is involved in working in the Emergency Department at Blount Memorial Hospital.
I contacted the department and asked the Director of Emergency Services if I could interview her and a few others. I picked an area that was somewhat quiet and conducted interviews with each subject, lighting them appropriately, setting up the camera, and asking questions about the challenges of their job, how they feel about it, etc.
I then went back on a few different days to shoot b-roll. I had to be careful to stay out of the way and also not to show patients unless they signed a release.
After gathering enough video I started putting the segments together. Since I had a lot of great material we decided to edit a video for each employee and also edit one that combined all 4 employees. I had full editorial control, choosing the best sound and assembling it into a cohesive story. The videos were added to the hospital's YouTube and Facebook pages.
